Overview

SnapCue is a macOS menu bar application that captures screenshots and sends them to our servers for AI analysis. We take your privacy seriously and designed the app to minimize data collection.

What we collect

Screenshot data: When you use SnapCue, your screenshot is sent to our servers for analysis. The image is processed in real-time and is not stored permanently. Once the analysis is complete, the image is discarded from our servers.

On your device: Screenshots are held in memory only. They are never written to disk. When you take a new screenshot, the previous one is overwritten. When you quit the app, all screenshot data is gone.

Account data: During beta, no account is required and no personal information is collected. When we introduce accounts in the future, we will collect only your email address for authentication purposes.

Usage analytics: We may collect anonymous usage statistics such as the number of analyses performed and app version. This data cannot be linked to individual users.

What we don't collect

Third-party services

SnapCue uses third-party AI APIs to analyze screenshots. These requests are made through our own backend servers — your device never communicates directly with AI providers. We do not share any identifying information with these providers.

Data security

All communication between the SnapCue app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS. Screenshots are transmitted securely and processed in isolated environments.

Screen recording permission

SnapCue requires macOS Screen Recording permission to capture screenshots. This permission is used solely for the screenshot capture feature. The app does not record video, audio, or continuous screen activity.
